The Fair Work Amendment (Closing Loopholes No.2) Act 2024 makes several changes to the Fair Work Act 2009. These include changes to casual employment which start from 26 August 2024.
We have decided to start a new case to consider whether current modern award terms should be varied because of these changes.
A Full Bench has issued a Statement today ([2024] FWCFB 312) expressing provisional views about how modern awards should be changed. The Full Bench has also published a sample of draft determinations to show the changes.
