Role of the Energy Industry Worker Redeployment Advisory Group
The Energy Industry Worker Redeployment Advisory Group (EIWRAG) is established under the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024 (NZEA Act).
We must give the EIWRAG an opportunity to be heard in relation any applications we receive for:
- a community of interest determination (section 56 of the NZEA Act)
- a determination about section 59 – by agreement (section 60 of the NZEA Act)
- a determination about section 59 – no agreement (section 61 of the NZEA Act)
- an order about a community of interest determination (section 62 of the NZEA Act).
The EIWRAG is an advisory group. It is not a decision-making body.
Membership
EIWRAG members are appointed by the Minister for a period of 3 years. The EIWRAG must include members nominated by employee organisations (unions) and employer organisations that could represent transition employees, closing employers and dependent employers.
