Episode 13: Good governance in practice - holding meetings

Meetings are an essential part of running a registered organisation. They are the place for decision-making, sharing information, asking questions and solving problems.

The Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (the RO Act) requires the rules of registered organisations to govern how certain meetings are conducted in organisations and branches. However, effective governance practices for conducting meetings go beyond the requirements in the RO Act.

ROCpod was a monthly podcast created by the Registered Organisations Commission, which is now abolished. The obligations for registered organisations remain unchanged, with the functions transferred to the Fair Work Commission as the regulator from 6 March 2023.
