Applying for Associate roles
Associate roles are advertised along with other Commission roles on our online job portal.
Associates provide support to the Commission Members and their main duties include administration, case management, in-court duties and legal research. The Commission has approximately 40 Members who are independent statutory appointees. You can learn more about the Commission members on our website.
Tertiary qualifications in law or workplace relations are highly regarded.
Associates are generally engaged on a non-ongoing basis at the APS5 level for 12 to 18 months. Some positions can be extended for up to 3 years.
Through Associate recruitment processes, the Commission creates a merit pool of suitable applicants. Each pool remains valid for a period of 18 months from the date of advertisement and can be used to fill vacancies throughout the year.
